Tilda Swinton embraced her Scottish roots for Chanel’s Pre-Fall 2013 campaign which echoed the house’s Métiers d’Art show from December 2012. The silver screen star was shot by none other than Karl Lagerfeld for the ad, replete with medieval art, rich accents, and tartan. [Fashion Gone Rogue]

Who said you couldn’t be a fashion cover girl while approaching your golden years? Miuccia Prada, 64, is just that for the latest issue of T Magazine, where she tackles aging in the 21st century. “It used to be that a woman would have only one life, one husband, and if you were bored that was that. Now, you can have two or three lives,” the Prada and Miu Miu magnate said. “So even the concept of family is changing. I think this question of aging will define the society of the future.” [T Magazine]

Elizabeth Taylor, Grace Kelly, and Jackie Kennedy aren’t the only icons whose covetable wears will be up for auction at Christie’s. International Herald Tribune fashion editor Suzy Menkes is giving up 80 pieces from her personal wardrobe to the fine arts institution. “If I had a large open space in my home, I would dedicate it, like an art gallery, to my collection,” the style authority said. “But there is something sad about clothes laid in a tomb of trunks. They need to live again and this auction provides the opportunity for them to walk out in the sunshine, to dance the night away and to give someone else the joy that they gave to me.” [Telegraph]

The old saying goes that clothes don’t make the man; rather the man makes the clothes. With that philosophy comes the need for a superb fit. Dapper gents out west will now have better help in the tailoring department thanks to Arden Reed on wheels. The bespoke suiting company is rolling into Los Angeles with a high-tech truck that will provide customers with 3D body scanning, a fitting and waiting room, and the chance to customize a new suit on the spot. That blonde hair. That red pout. That slick style. Kirsten Dunst had all features on board for Wren‘s latest capsule collection with Lula magazine head Leith Clark. The collaboration drew inspiration from Clark’s favorite illustrators, schoolgirl style, and retro apparel. [Style.com]

Azzedine Alaïa could be shifting his focus from embellished suede sandals and perforated dresses to menswear. The designer forayed into that realm for the first time this weekend when his costumes for an L.A. production of The Marriage of Figaro debuted on stage. “I’ve never done men’s clothes before and opera costumes are difficult,” said Alaia, who has previously created looks for a French ballet. Thanks to set designer Jean Nouvel, though, Alaïa got the chance to channel his talents into something new. “Azzedine and I have been friends for many years and I see him as an architectural designer, with the structure, the geometry and the texture,” he told Vogue UK. [Vogue UK]

Coco Rocha would choose geek over chic any day. The multifaceted model is the new contributing editor of PC magazine, where her premiere post zeroed in on 3D printing in fashion. [The Cut]
